World of Warcraft offers players a world full of possibilities. If you decide to embark on this adventure, we recommend that you take it easy and enjoy every moment in the game, without a doubt the first experiences in the game you will never forget.
To make sure that you really like the game and enjoy it step by step, we have decided to make this small guide with some tips. These are merely our opinion on the steps that a new player should follow when starting the game, so it may differ from anyone else.
- Try the game first, do NOT pay for anything.
Although we love Azeroth and spend hours inside World of Warcraft, you may not be convinced by the experience and that is why we recommend you to start with a Started Edition account. Here is the list of steps to start testing the game:
Download and install Blizzard’s Battle.net application. To do so, go to battle.net, select “My Account” at the top right and “Create a free account”. From here you must fill in all your data to download the application and install it.
Log in to the application.
Click on the World of Warcraft icon on the left side of the application.
Select World of Warcraft from the Version drop-down menu.
Click Install.
From this moment on you will have a basin Started Edition available, being able to try World of Warcraft up to level 20. Once you enter the game you will have the opportunity to create your character in one of the different realms. Be very careful as you will be recommended to create your character in a new player realm, we advise you not to do this and choose one of the following realms depending on the faction and region in which you play:
America
Horde: the Ragnaros realm is the majority realm for this faction.
Alliance: the Quel’Thalas kingdom is the majority for this faction.
Europe
Horde: the kingdoms Sanguino, Uldum, Zul’jin or Shen’dralar are the majority for this faction.
Alliance: the Dun Modr and C’thun kingdoms are the majority for this faction.
There are some limitations with this account, but this way you can be sure to try as many classes and races as you want. If after reaching level 20 you decide you want to continue exploring and getting to know Azeroth, we invite you to move on to the second point.
- Buy a month of game time and level up your character to level 50.
Once you decide that you want to continue in World of Warcraft, you can subscribe to a month of game time (Europe or America). This subscription, which you can do in the Blizzard Store, will be charged each month to your bank account or card associated with your battle.net. We recommend that as you are going to try the game, you make the subscription and once the payment is approved (after about 3 days), you cancel the subscription. This way you will NOT be charged for the next month and you will have complete control over your spending.
To deactivate the subscription go to your battle.net account and access the Games and Subscriptions section. Click on “Manage” and then click on Cancel Subscription.
You will have access to the following sections of the game:
Seven expansions to discover, from The Burning Crusade to Battle for Azeroth. As a new World of Warcraft player, you will have the opportunity to relive the latest events of the game through the Battle for Azeroth campaign.
Explore and fight all the enemies that want to destroy Azeroth.
Level up to level 50 and unlock new ways to play. Craft epic equipment, defeat elite enemies and overcome legendary quests.
Become a citizen of Azeroth to access social features such as guilds, in-game chat and the auction house.
After reaching level 50 you will be faced with the decision to continue your adventure into the Shadowlands. In the next step it will be necessary to make a significant outlay and although you will live unique experiences, be clear before making that decision.
- Buy Shadowlands and play World of Warcraft in its entirety.
You have access to all the content! What’s beyond the world you know? The Shadowlands, the resting place of all mortal souls, virtuous or vile, who have ever lived. Travel from the planes of torment and imprisonment to those of rebirth and eternal reward.
